Faro

Faro is a city and municipality in Southern Portugal and a part of the Algarve Region.  It has been known to have the most beautiful beaches in all of Europe.  Many tourists, particularly Europeans, visit Faro to spend their summer vacations or get away from the dark and cold winter season.  Faro is definitely the choice if you want to get tanned because the city is sunny and warm all year round.  The city also has very friendly locals.  You’ll surely never have a difficult time socializing with them because some can speak a bit of English, but it is highly appreciated if visitors can speak some Portuguese.

Other things visitors can see and do in Faro are sightseeing and discovering the city.  Visitors can visit the old city of Faro, the Cidade Velha.  Visitors will also be surprised with its horrifying chapel, the Capela dos Ossos which is made of 1,200 skeletons of former monks in that place.  Visitors can also visit the extraordinary natural reserve, the Rio Formosa and the sandy beaches of Praia de Faro.
